Our delivery of summer bulbs have just arrived & we have over 200 varieties this year. They're really easy to grow. Just pop them in a pot or border & they'll provide a stunning, fragrant show in the coming months.

Colour your garden this Winter
There are plenty of plants suitable for winter container planting; skimmias, grasses, cyclamen, gautherias , to name a few. Since skimmias and gautherias are ericaceous, combine them with a good selection of other ericaceous plants like Heathers which will provide a sparkling display in the winter months. October is also a good time to plant shrubs and trees. There is a huge selection available. Don't forget those shrubs and trees that give interest at this time of the year; after all, a garden is not just for summer enjoyment only. Nandina leaves turn a fiery red with cold nights and remain thus all through winter; Sarcoccoca with their unobtrusive flowers pack a delightful punch with their scent.

Best Regional Christmas and
2nd place National Christmas

Our 2011 Christmas presentation represented the true essence of Christmas. Our themes were the natural and cosy feel of the HUNTER'S CABIN; the bright, crisp and frosty winters morning represented by FRESH and the snowy winter wonderland of the NORDIC FOREST. We also had 4 smaller themes made up of the traditional RED/GOLD; Scandinavian RED/WHITE; the bold and oppulent VENECIAN GLAMOUR and backed by popular demand, the irridescent vibrance of PEACOCK.
We are proud of our achievement of Best Regional Christmas and second place nationally. A well-deserved thank you to all staff involved in delivering such an outstanding presentation!

Supporting Daryl for Thrive

Thrive is a small national charity that uses gardening to change lives. They champion the benefits of gardening, carry out research and offer training and practical solutions so that anyone with a disability can take part in, benefit from and enjoy gardening.

You've probably seen Daryl in the shop at Sunshine; he's the young, fit one always running around helping customers. We thought he'd been drinking the Miracle Gro but it turns out that he's been training to run a half marathon!
He will be running the Silverstone Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on 11th March 2012.

Daryl and Thrive would appreciate any sum of money and it is as EASY as clicking the 'Donate Now' button on the right.
