Supporting Daryl for Thrive Thrive is a small national charity that uses gardening to change lives. They champion the benefits of gardening, carry out research and offer training and practical solutions so that anyone with a disability can take part in, benefit from and enjoy gardening. You've probably seen Daryl in the shop at Sunshine; he's the young, fit one always running around helping customers. We thought he'd been drinking the Miracle Gro but it turns out that he's been training to run a half marathon! |

We also have 4 smaller themes made up of the traditional RED/GOLD; Scandinavian RED/WHITE; the bold and oppulent VENECIAN GLAMOUR and backed by popular demand, the irridescent vibrance of PEACOCK. |
| Fireworks Extravaganza 2011 |
Once again, this 'sell out' event was a huge success, drawing in excess of 500 spectators. We were blessed with a rainfree evening which enabl
ed Professor Pyro (Deryck) and Brother Bang(Christopher) to de-stress and really excell, setting off the most spectacular well-planned fireworks to various pieces of music. Most of the fireworks used in his fantastic display are available for sale, here at Sunshine, throughout the year and we will always be happy to assist and advise you with your firework purchases, however large or small, or for whatever the occasion. |
We had an overwhelming response to this special event and were full to capacity. The reputation of this annual special evening has spread fast over the past few years and, this year, the tickets were sold out within two weeks! GCA North Thames Awards Ceremony At the July 2011 GCA (Garden Centre Association) Awards Ceremony for the North Thames region, we were proud winners of the above mentioned categories as well as receiving several awards of merit for other services we offer. A huge thank you to all the staff for these outstanding achievements! Recognition well deserved. |

Which? One is the Best in London Which? carried out a survey asking members to give feedback on their shopping experiences at their local Garden Centre and we were proud to receive feedback as the Best Garden Centre in Greater London. Considering how many Garden Centres there are nationally, we were really impressed to take 4th place in the country. We would like to take this time to thank all our customers who took the time to provide such wonderful feedback! At Sunshine you can always expect a happy smile, warm approach and excellent advice on all your gardening requirements. |

A Chelsea Commendation Chelsea 2011 has been our second year at this prestigious Show with us working alongside Barlow Tyrie to dress their stand to compliment their furniture range. After months of planning and sourcing of the correct products, we put it all together in a display which earned both Barlow Tyrie and Sunshine Garden Centre a Certificate of Commendation for the high quality presentation of the stand. Well done to David from Barlow Tyrie and Marco from Sunshine Garden Centre for designing the stand and all the hard work that went into putting it all together. |
GCA Conference Awards At the January 2011 GCA (Garden Centre Association) Conference, we were awarded 2nd place in the National Ruxley Rose Plant Area Competition in our category. After winning this for two consecutive years, we remain proud to be one of the top contenders for this prestigious competition. Even though we did not take the cup home this year, we will continue to deliver consistently high standards; professional horticultural advice and an uncompromising approach to delivering the best customer service. |

Colour Your Life Working in the Garden Centre industry it is hard to ignore the environmental worries that are constantly on the agenda. So when the GCA (Garden Centre Association) approached us with the Green City Initiative we were delighted to get involved, as this gave us a great opportunity to support and promote a greener London. The Colour Your Life initiative is about promoting more, high quality green space to potentially bring enrichment across business and society. |

Evidence from a wide range of economic, scientific and social studies supports the view that plants and green space make the difference. Green space and plants bring enviromental and social benefits to society. Just one of these benefits is clean air. It is interesting to learn that the trees, shrubs, climbers and flowers that you pass everyday play a huge part in removing deadly particles from the air.
